Seven Wonders - The Parícutin Volcano

Seven Wonders of the Natural World - The Paricutin volcano in Mexico is a sight to behold. The image above shows a a church ruined by it's lava flow. What is so special about the Paricutin volcano is that the mountain was created during a human life time. After erupting, the mountain started rising rapidly in 1943 and today reaches a height of 2,800 meters. The volcano is a part of the Michoacán-Guanajuato volcanic field in Western Mexico.
