2. The second highest point on planet Earth is K2, also known as the Savage Mountain. The super sized mountain is part of the Karakoram mountain range and is on the Pakistan/China border. At it's peak, K2 reaches a staggering 8,611 m (28,251 ft). The dangerous mountain, even today, has never been climbed in winter.
